In our selections, we have tried to represent both diversity and faithfulness to the Word of God. Do note that these are the resources for both our Rooted women’s mentorship program, and our Anchored men’s mentorship program. So while there will be some resources that are more applicable to women, and others that are more applicable to men, we do hope that every person will be able to find a resource in their area that is relevant to their needs and situation.
Additionally, a variety of denominations are represented, meaning there may occasionally be secondary theological points that differ from your own. Occasionally two resources for the same topic may even differ from each other somewhat in their views, conclusions, and suggestions. That being said, we do feel that all uphold Christianity’s primary tenets, align with Sisterhood’s beliefs statement, and are examples of God’s wisdom graciously bestowed on His people.
We encourage you to not just pick the first one on the list, but rather to prayerfully look through each resource in your respective primer before choosing. If there are things you disagree with, pray about it, talk about it with your mentor/mentee, and perhaps chat with a pastor or mature believer about it as well. We trust that, going through this process, each resource has the power to be a real God-utilized blessing to all mentors and mentees that turn to it.
While we have included links directing you to websites where you can purchase these resources, a good amount are available at no cost through the Saskatoon Public Library and/or through their eBook or audiobook apps. Of course, you may also be able to purchase them locally in-person at McNally Robinson or Kennedy’s Parables.
