Our identity, values, and beliefs

Sisterhood is a not-for-profit ministry located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with a vision to reach women across our nation and beyond.

We believe every person’s hope and divine purpose are found through intimacy with Jesus. Sisterhood is about discipling women to become steadfast, compassionate, grace-filled disciples that, in turn, serve, encourage, and disciple others.

WE DO THIS BY:

  • Fostering spiritual growth and intimacy with Jesus through Gospel-centred content, events, and supports

  • Bringing women together across different backgrounds and generations through mentorship programs and communal events

  • Helping women identify, exercise, and develop their gifts and abilities through service opportunities and training seminars

  • Providing opportunities for thoughtful action as we encourage reflection on the roles we play in our world and work towards justice, mercy, and the flourishing of all people

In all we do, we value:

  • Complete dependence on God’s Word as our principal guide and authority

  • Welcoming, recognizing, and celebrating all backgrounds, ethnicities, and generations

  • Honouring the intrinsic God-bestowed value and dignity of each and every woman

  • The richness in gathering together in small and large groups for strength, wisdom, encouragement, and growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ

  • Grace modelled after that which our Father extends so freely and generously to us, leading us to believe the best of one another and forgive promptly and without resentment

What we believe

  • We believe in a personal God who has revealed Himself as One. God exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each are distinct, yet all are of One essence.

  • We believe that the Bible—both in its the Old and New Testaments—is the inspired Word of God, fully complete and without error. We believe that the Bible contains all that is necessary to lead people to a knowledge of salvation and to live a righteous life. We believe it to be the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.

  • We believe that Jesus is the divine Son of God, the only sacrifice for our sin, and our guarantee of God’s unchanging love for us. We believe that He died, rose again, and is now seated at the right hand of God. We believe that one day He will return to the earth to receive all those who have believed in Him.

  • We believe that people are eternal beings and will spend the rest of eternity after their life on earth either with God in eternal happiness (heaven) or without God in eternal sorrow (hell). We believe that through faith in Jesus, we are granted an eternity with God.

  • We believe that God, the Father, still speaks to His children today through His Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit will always agree with God’s Word, and teach us to live according to it. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives us strength and ability to share the love of Jesus Christ with others and that all who are willing are able to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that those who have placed their faith in Christ are knit together in one Body, called the Church, a distinctive community of faith expressed in local clusters, engaging culture on every front with God’s hope and love. This Church is one for which Christ will personally return.
